Kitchens are the heart of the home- places where everyone gathers together. We want our kitchens to be cozy and welcome, open and tidy, and very functional. Achieving all of these- sometimes in limited spaces- can be a great challenge. Every year sees $20B spent in kitchen remodeling projects. However, good design is not always part of the bill, as many homeowners often rely on standardized vendor’s solutions, work directly with local contractors, or take DIY projects.
Paula W., from Georgia, launched a design contest to update her kitchen. She was looking “to have a functional work-space that is beautiful, as well as easy to clean and maintain, and within the budget.” She put a timeframe of 4 weeks for her contest, and received 12 remarkable design submissions from around the world. Paula selected a design by Traistaru Cristian, a designer from Romania, as his winning solution. “I love this concept. If you can upload pictures on your computer, you can use this service.!…What I loved about the entire process was the fact I received a dozen designs and extensive materials lists, and in some cases, even local resources to purchase the lighting, counter tops and cabinets they had depicted in their plans…So now – when I decide to move forward with the actual work – I can hire locally and there’s no guess work about what I want done, whether it can be done within budget, or how the finished product will look.”
Janet and Jim, from Ohio, had a similar experience. They had 23 years old kitchen in need of of an update. Running a project on Arcbazar, they received six design concepts, opting for a solution from Qarch Team, from France. “Using Arcbazar was a great experience from the beginning to end! The website was easy to use and the communication was excellent. It was remarkable how easy, efficient, and non-time consuming it was obtaining these designs… Our first choice ended up being the design submitted from France! We love it! It has a bit of a European feel to it; beautiful, welcoming, cozy, and very functional. After the kitchen is completed, we plan to use Arcbazar again for a basement remodeling project.”
