Master suites are retreats to wind down from the everyday busy life. Those are the most private home spaces, and homeowners dream them as beautiful, relaxing, tidy and spacious, and to most reflect their aesthetics. However, translating this into cohesive design can be a true challenge.

Arcbazar, a Cambridge based start-up company offers homeowners the ability to create such spaces with the click of a mouse button. Projects are launched online through an open competition to a community of designers worldwide to offer customized design concepts that suit clients’ needs. “We want to give homeowners the access to creative, affordable and exciting design,” says Ana Batista, co-founder of Arcbazar.com. “Our projects range from small home renovations, to landscape or commercial spaces. We can help design a beautiful master suite or an entire beautiful house. Our clients are always happy to see creative solutions and different design languages they had never anticipated.”

Eric P., from Massachusetts, had recently bought and decorated a home “except for our bedroom, which was so large that we felt overwhelmed and just filled it with old furniture…we wanted to redesign everything in the room and make it beautiful.” Eric run a competition on Arcbazar and received ten gorgeous design concepts, ultimately opting for a proposal from James Foster, an architect from Washington D.C. “We were amazed at the quality of ideas that came in from all over the world on our small redesign project. The creativity of the top designs made us rethink our project, and we were very glad that we tried Arcbazar instead of only getting the perspective of a single interior designer that we considered hiring.”

Sandra M, from San Jose CA, also had “a small bedroom and closet, mud room/pantry, and small bathroom that would like to transform into a master suite.” Sandra’s renovation project received seventeen beautiful design proposals, and she ultimately opted for a concept from Denisa Darlea, a designer from Romania.
